Why BlueButterfly?

Why BlueButterfly?

In 2018 I spent the most amazing week at a gorgeous Ayurvedic Yoga retreat in France with my friend Lin.
Our days comprised of early morning mediations, delicious food & fabulous yoga classes.
In between this we journaled, lazed by the pool, took  Ayurvedic cookery lessons & had some fun with Acro yoga!
One day our morning yoga practise was interwoven with a Spirit Animal theme - I loved the practise & became quite fascinated by the idea of Spirit Animals.
That afternoon Lin & I headed off on a bike ride to check out the local windmills.
Everytime we stopped for a rest I was circled by the most beautiful blue butterfly she seemed to be following me.
She would rest on my hand and then dance around me.
When I returned home it seemed as if everywhere I looked I saw butterflies!! Whether in nature, in books, on fabrics and stationery, in magazines and on social media. So I started to read up about them.
The butterfly holds a spiritual significance that encompasses metamorphosis, renewal, and inner development. It embodies the path towards self-realization and the power to adapt and flourish.
Butterflies signify liberation, buoyancy, and happiness, encouraging us to release our burdens and welcome a feeling of freedom.

In her book Animal Medicine, author Erika Buenaflor, M.A., beautifully expresses that butterflies also embody rebirth, hope, and courage. Their presence signifies that a positive shift is underway, and courageous energies are guiding and supporting you through graceful transitions. Embracing the butterfly's symbolism encourages you to move through your transformation with bravery and confidence.
Everything I read felt so relatable that from that day onwards I have always been convinced the blue butterfly is my spirit animal 🦋🙏
